If you're anything like me, you want your children to fully understand the stories you read them. You also recognize sometime children, especially under the age of 5, struggle to pay attention and retain any relevant information during those oh-so-important lessons in the Bible. One way to mitigate that is to have them do a craft about it!
There are SO many variations of this craft that can be done. I will likely add to this post for years! This craft involved VERY little cutting and pasting, and could have had even less. This was a great way to incorporate coloring, cutting, and pasting for my little one - who is very craft-oriented - so this is what we chose to do. My youngest child seems to not want ANYTHING to do with school unless it involves singing, so we will see how I can incorporate that into the next Noah's Ark craft.
Easily the most recognizable story in the Bible, Noah's Ark is a great story for kids. Not only is the life lesson important, but the possibilities of crafts are endless! Here is a great, interactive craft to get your kids talking about the story of Noah's Ark.
Step 1: Build a boat. You can get really creative and use popsicle sticks to make an actual boat (I plan on doing this with my kindergartener), but for Pre-K we kept it simple and just did a plain brown boat, made out of construction paper.
Step 2: Make a rainbow. It doesn't have to be a perfect rainbow with clouds, just a straight line with each color of the rainbow would be perfect!
Step 3: Add animals to your boat. We added stickers since our boat was made out of paper. You could add small figurines to a popsicle boat, though!
Step 4: Tell the story of Noah's Ark, using your beautiful craft!
Show me your sweet creations with your kiddos! I always love to see them! As always, feel free to drop a comment and thank you so much for your support.
God bless!
